AWS operating profit of $1.2 billion jumped 36 percent compared to the previous year, showing that competitive pressures and the massive investments required to maintain a world-class cloud computing platform aren’t taking a toll on its bottom line.
AWS is now on an $18 billion revenue run rate, Chief Financial Officer Brian Olsavsky said on a call with the media following the release of its results.

Been using Amazon RDS and EC2 at my new company after being Rif'd at Oracle and it is pretty good. So glad I am getting the chance to use AWS after leaving Oracle even though I took a bit of a pay cut to do it. At Oracle you never ever get the chance to use competitor products.

Oracle Cloud continues to rack up big wins with Fortune 500 companies while Amazon continues to feed from the also-rans trough. This is a growing pie people and not a limited growth opportunity which requires taking shares from your competitors. There's plenty of $$$ for all and Oracle will take a big swath this Quarter. Oracle stock is headed for $60 and beyond!
