Thread regarding Advance Auto Parts Inc. layoffs

Vendor/supplier ~ Advance auto parts is on the right track for success

I would like to second these articles that are reporting a Hugh turn around in q1. I am a representative of a vendor/supplier. I have met with many if not all of your buyers and senior management in both corporate locations. There is an air about the place where Advance is going to knock az off its pedestal next year. There is also laser like focus on commercial and heavy-duty business. If to can’t see the positive things that are going on right now then you may be blind folded. I personally have redirected my portfolio to have nothing but advance auto holdings. It is a real courtesy for them to provide a heads up on q1 announcements. This will be the talk of the news/investor media as soon as it is announced. For those of you that are negative then it’s not for you. But, those that are leaders and are not lead but the bad apples then you will be rewarded.

Q3 and Q4 come before Q1 announcements and Q1 announcements are in May, so let's get realistic here...

Sounds like an internet company out of India posting these types of hype topics. Money poorly spent.

I work at advance and my store hours are being cut so drastically that we can not run the store properly. We have sometimes maybe 2 drivers for commercial.. that's not how you provide customer service when commercial accounts are being told they have to wait. My store has a high transaction count but given less hours then slower stores.

That vendor/supplier should hire someone who can spell...

Sounds like the same language used in other topics started to pump up Q1. Probably the same people from India that run the IT department...

What you're saying makes no sense. Auto Zone is diy heavy, if Advance is focusing on commercial, how does that knock AZ off the block?

Soooo the economy is turning around at the first of the year? You have got to be extremely naive if you think our competition isn't ready to go balls to the wall as well.

Advance has proven it self to be reactive and not proactive in this business, and that has caused a lot of the trouble the company now experiences. Advance can not seem to grasp the concept of retail vs commercial customers, and has lacked both the ability and four sight to attract or retain existing customers. Whatever the next big deal you try will in no way bring back the customers or employees for how badly you have already burned them with broken promises and out right lies. So best of luck with yet "Another" try at making your business model work. It will no doubt be a butchered version of one of the competitors since no one within corporate knows anything about the auto parts business.
