Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

GE lied

I worked for GE Capital from 1968 to 2005 (37 years). Laid off in 1999 when my job was sent to India (applied for an opening that came up and stayed).

Took early retirement when offered when I was 55.

Was promised insurance coverage for life. GE lied about that. I am glad I still get a monthly pension.

@PXq8sdQ GE promised health insurance for life???? In my experience they offer health insurance, provided you pay premiums & deductibles till you are eligible for Medicare. Did you misunderstand?

But did you sign your Spirit & Letter for the company twice a year? HAhahaha what a load.

Sounds fishy. GE has never offered early retirement at 55, unless it’s a medical retirement.

Most "business people" are liars... that's why they're "business people..."

The fact-of-the-matter... we really don't need any of it... but, that's what's ingrained into our souls... CAPITALISM!!! The heck with families and communities...

Spirit and letter of integrity or lack there of. Mediocre kneejerk leaders who believe their own hype. I hope flannery turns it around financially and culturally.

Also, I was told GE would supply supplemental insurance when I was eligible for Medicare. I was a non-exempt employee. When Obamacare kicked in they changed their tune. I was told by an exempt employee wasn't it nice of GE to give us $500 a year to go towards our insurance? I don't get that.
