Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

$100 Billion of GE shareholder wealth wiped out in the last 10 months + Financial security of thousands of employees

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2017-10-27/ge-s-awful-week-pushes-this-year-s-stock-wipeout-to-100-billion

All of this happening when the US and global economies - even Japan - starting to grow in synch ! Aweful capital allocation decisions this company has made over the last decade , have come home to roost. People who are responsible for this still are sitting cozy all across the company and still getting promoted . Lease cancellation on company cars is of course the ultimate punishment !

Looks on track to evaporate the next 100 billion.

Obvious troll. People often refer to Crotonville training as going to Cretinville or Croutonville. One of my managers even used the nickname Croutonville during staff meetings.

I know spelling, grammar, and general logic are tough for you union guys. *Crotonville - where leaders learn how to put up with the incompetent.

So true, the GE culture encourages management to constantly change roles. The constant change means instead of “change” the dumb culture stays the same.

if you survive the cut, take great pride in seeing the useless "leaders" fall. every single one of them deserve it.

GE leadership and the multilayered management culture is to blame. Those of us in the working ranks have been blown away for years by the idiotic decisions made by inexperienced and disconnected leaders. Leadership always uses the same predictable plan when things go wrong. Reorg after reorg after reorg after reorg. And also layoff after layoff after layoff. They also think they need more financial leaders instead of leaders fully vested in our product. Sourcing and Finance leaders are placed as plant managers and leaders of the company with no connection to the product we manufacture. GE deserves to FAIL.
