Why don’t you wireless people post on the Verizon Wireless section . You guys didn’t give 2 sh--s about VZ Communications last year and thought you guys were the sh-- . Now you guys are fearing every day for your jobs . Just a thought

You can hide behind your little BS Union and talk sh*t....but If you clowns you had to work 1 day without one, and all your little perks, you would have been fired a long time ago. It’s time they get rid of all you little babies s---ing the life out of the company. The only reason your lazy a$$es are even still a around is because of wireless. (And NO- no one wanted to fill in for you embarrassements during your picketing- we have are own lives, that we had to give up for 2 months, so that you can have your god given “union” coffee breaks) #sityoura$$down
Verizon is NOT two companies. It was combined over 2 years ago. Stop trying to push a we vs. them mentality. The VZ Communications site is for ALL of us.
Landline is a dinosaur. Antiquated, crappy fiber plant and people sleeping in vans and CO's and rigging their own OT. It was proven last year how much the wireline techs were needed when the wireless employees volunteered for strike duty and nothing missed a beat. Hmmm. Few weeks of training and we did the same jobs people with 25 years did. The only people that care about landline are in the the North East region so get over yourselves landline cry babies.
Wireless = Jobless
Wireline isn't going anywhere? Really? 90% of it has been sold off already.
oh you must mean the side of the company that actually produces profits
Wireline/fiber and wireless isn’t going anywhere for a long time. Now, POTS, DSL, and FIOS as we know it today will look completely different from what we see it as today. Fiber to the tower will be the only fiber connection needed in the very near 5g future.
The enemy is Sr leadership. They are a complete failure.
@pel.. Most wireless employees want to leave. We are not heartbroken about it. We are not scared. We have been trained with the skills needed to move on and succeed. Don't get it confused...The questions we ask, such as when and what departments are not because we are scared; it's because we are excited! Excited to move on and find a company that values us. Truth is, wireline and wireless employees deserve way better treatment and appreciation then we have received and this company would be nothing without either side. The company has pinned wireless against the Union with its negative talk and propaganda of Unions and Union employees. They have strategically done this to keep the Union out of wireless. It is the company and leadership that will receive its due Karma, not the employees. Stop being so bitter. It's not a good look on you.
Anyone ever hear of AM radio? Get with the program and reality
Can't wait till 2019 when wireline employees post on here like they did last year:
This strike has been going for a whole week and I'm running out of money and can't feed my ten kids wahh!!
I hope Verizon hurries up and ends this strike so I can get back to do nothing wahh!!
Let's make more YouTube videos of wireless scabs doing just as good of a job as me me with almost no training wahh!!
Wireless cannot compete with competition now and never will be able to. The past was all about something new. It is old now and competition will be the new way to success. Go T-Mobile and Sprint.
LOL wireless "employees"
@kgl .... as long as management continues to pit wireless profits against wireline profits we will continue to be two different companies. When the wireless management is dissolved, and it looks like that is what is happening, and the wireless service is brought into the wireline infrastructure and service ... then we will be one company.
STFU all of you old bitter wireline employees. You sound like a bunch of whining babies. Please proceed to the nearest desk and grab a tissue. If it wasn't for wireless revenue over the past 17 years you wouldn't have a job. We will post wherever we like because we can. We don't feel as though we are untouchable. We have lost many coworkers over the past several years. If you don't like the posts, don't look at it slick. How's that for problem solving skills?
Why do wireline employees post on a layoff site when they are on strike?
In case you haven't realized by now, it is one company now. Wireline and wireless are integrated and reporting to the same VPs in many orgs. Instead of trolling over wireline vs wireless just focus on threads that are relevant to your organization.
Ill personally NEVER forget getting stared at at laughed at by vz wireless employees inside the store i had picket duty at while we are outside. They didnt support us so now we dont support you. Want a job that is the future? EXIT wireless and get a job installing FIOS.
@gfz ... True, they always thought they were untouchable and many of them, even their management had no idea how their wireless signal got from tower to tower. The wireless side reminds of the long distance 'paper carriers'; the mom and pop long distance companies that owned nothing and leased facilities from the phone companies. The bulk of the equipment used by wireless to transact their business is owned by the wireline side. Especially since the towers have been sold. What do they own now...real estate/buildings and the equipment at the base of the tower?
Wireless is a service and not an infrastructure and services come and go depending on the needs of the customer base and competition. Wireline provides both service and infrastructure and will continue to do so.
I agree with FoLTS. The wireless side have always felt they were untouchable.
Ha Ha. So if people are afraid they come to VZ Communications on layoff.com? What will that give them? Job security?
