Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

New Nike office

The new office was supposed to cost $ 380 million dollars and is projected to cost over $ 1 billion dollars! What a colossal goat f---! Nike is basically an artist colony and the new building is an artist's wet dream. It's ugly as hell unless you're a Portland hipster.

I believe they also built a new data center in Vegas for 60 million that they never used. And perhaps another data center in Dallas the same. One of the large buildings at the evergreen campus was gutted and remodeled twice in about 3 years - with all new furniture each time!

Nike is going to collapse under it's own weight. It's been gorging on large profits for so long the fat lethargic culture is incapable of dieting. But hey, they have a new office in NYC. Idiots!

Those new desks are worth it.

I agree. Renovations at MH last year were poorly designed and overly costly. High end modern furniture that was super uncomfortable. Desks that changed height with a push of a button. (Replacing desks that changed height by turning a crank). Custom furniture designed for one specific use (footwear storage) and completely useless for other product (apparel). Open, distracting and acoustically poor set ups that forced people to wear noise canceling headphones to stay focused. A small fraction of that budget could have covered my full department budget for a year or more.

Haha. The new buildings are over the top garish. Evergreen campus is friggin empty. Why do they so conspicuously waste money like this, I will never understand.
