Damn...I spent the whole summer waiting for an eisp and I could've retired months ago. Wish 2nvl had told us earlier. I feel like a fool. I guess I'll put in the retirement paperwork Monday.....no sense in waiting if he "knows".

Agreed agreed, FIOS is the future yet lowell thought it was in unreliable wireless, I know of other areas that are getting FIOS installed soon, but don't wanna mention by state...
I do know you've seen the last EISP and the last of the state sellouts to other companies, wireline has become necessary.

Now I know this upsets the Wireless staff whom as predicted is being shown the door on a daily basis, but there is no such thing as a Wireless Network anyway....and nothing will ever beat Fiber to the prem for business and residential service.
Adding to the insult every wireless company has a great "wireless" network today, they are literally a dime a dozen....But only Verizon has a truly head and shoulders above the rest unbeatable Fiber Wireline Network that has been Built and maintained by The Union membership. The Proud Union Members have built this company from the ground up. Without them, there would be no network at all and no Verizon FACT!
Cool, they are going to blow more $$$ they don't have to "try" to buildout the most costly service they have left to sell. At a townhall several years ago, I heard it cost about $3K per houselhold to install fiber. Maybe the price has gone down a bit since then. But still, how long does it take before that investment starts to return a profit?

Heard last week Big Red to hire 40 EA positions in Virginia. Gearing up for the 5G build. There will also be the OPT temp jobs that are coming. Granted most are temp, but there should be sufficient work to get those who are in sight of the finish line over the line that are near retirement who can not retire just yet.
All 3 year temps,job says up to 3 years so. They can let you go in 6 months,1 yr,2yrs ,they will use you until your not needed whether ypu are a good worker or not...
That's crazy talk! Nothing major is happening. Verizon hired temps. That's it. Nothing more. FIOS has neen very slow in some areas and a little busier in others. Nothing major is on the horizon.

They just hired a bunch of full time techs in mid Atlantic and now hiring field workers in North East
