Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

Censorship?

I've noticed entire threads disappearing from this site. I can only imagine Nike is putting the screws to thelayoff.com to delete embarrassing but honest and revealing posts. When you can't argue with the facts, censor the opposition. Looks like Nike is taking a page from Kim Jong-Un's book. The more I learn about Nike, the less I like. Never worked there and never will.

Don't underestimate Nike's bully stance. The lawyers are trained to take on the worst of the worst. It's fight club. Don't hate them for being soulless dobermans. Oops apologies to all Dobermans.

I hear "assume good intentions" a lot. Only the foolish or naive would follow that philosophy. I always assume the individual (or company) will look after their own interests, even at your expense. People only want what they can get from you and then expect you to move on. I've seen it posted here - never give loyalty to a company that doesn't have your name in the title. Never expect loyalty from that company either. You are a commodity, useful for a time but discarded if no longer useful or if something better or just different comes along. Never let your guard down. Assume the worst and you will seldom be caught unprepared. I'm sure people laid off this year assumed good intentions from their managers and Nike. Look where it got them.

They have rules somewhere in the footer - you may want to read that - in short: no foul language, no bullying, no personal info, etc.

Nike layoffs are all about cutting costs...c'mon, we all know this. It should come as no surprise at all that NKE execs choose to first cut higher paid workers, whenever possible. The institutional owners of 80% of Nike's publicly traded stock haven't a care as to the tenure of those employees cut, but they (the institutional owners) will certainly follow the materiality of those cute and their impact on the 10-K and 10-Q financial statements. To think that Nike execs would choose to proceed with a RIF, without maximizing the resultant cost savings...well, that's unrealistic.

As well-stated elsewhere, herein: don't ever love a company, they will never love you back.

Furthermore, if you are still a tenured Nike employee, and don't yet have enough saved to drop into a lower-paying role, elsewhere, or to 'retire' completely, you better start planning. Nike stock price dropped 10% in August....

The greatest trick the devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist.

Obviously you've never learned about assume positive intent before you go off the deep end.. Check "older posts" and find gratitude in something..

Agree. There was a great thread labeled "Gratitude." Actually kind of inspiring in a positive way. What happened? Tossing the good posts with the bad?
