Thread regarding Oracle Corp. layoffs

Pumping up the stock

I just watched The Closing Bell on CNBC. They were pumping up Oracle stock big time. All was milk and honey. Clould htis, cloud that. It felt we were new 'Microsoft' with a huge shift to the Cloud that's transipring righ tnow. They closed the piece with a rave about 5000 being hired - the last words were: this is good for Oracle, for the economy, and for the country.

Whoever came up with this 5K to-be-hired PR release should get a medal. Or at least a bump in their bonus....

F---ers....

It was a pump and dump. The announcement to hire 5000 cloud people was to hide the fact they fired about 2000 sparc and solaris people on the following friday before the long weekend. They locked the 401k accounts for 30 days (try ringing Fidelity) then strangely the share price plummets after some dubious results.

ORCL has already been doing a good deal of advertising on CNBC.

That's all what they do - CNBC - they pump up things. That's how they make money. The next step, after this nice pump we received today, Larry will go to CNBC and buy let's say 20 mil in advertising.

$50 right now in after-hours trading. That's where we were at the beginning of the month.

SC's Q2 guidance range fell below analyst expectations.
