Thread regarding Allstate Corp. layoffs

Anyone see their severance pay yet? It's been 31 days so far. Are they waiting for day 59?

Unacceptable for a company with their assets. I have spoken w/ friends that have been laid off from BOA and Verizon. They did not have to wait for their severance.

It seems that by the time Federal and state tax was withheld, and Social Security and Medicare, I only received about 55% of total amount.

Federal tax on severance pay is 25%, Allstate has nothing to do with that. I received mine today and the amounts are correct.

Received severance today. Only eligible for 2 weeks severance. Check was shorted 200.00 and it is pinpointed to they decided to take an additional 200 more from the federal taxes. I'm not sure what type of game they think they are playing however this is most likely why I owed 5k in taxes last year.

Will be contacting attorney and IRS Monday morning, signed paperwork or not.

No and probably not day 59 but 60. Keep in mind day 61 that release you signed is null and void.
