The big change is going to come when Bezos realizes that he's the proud owner of a $14 billion nightmare. No rational chain tries to go national with a collection of far flung local and regional chains with separate logistical systems and ordering databases all based on 30 year old technology. That's why chains like Publix have gradually grown from region to region, state to state. 90% of those reading this don't understand the extent of the FUBAR in the company's operations. It's a clusterfkk inside a tangled knot of incompatibility, held together with fraying string and wet duct tape. This won't end well.
Couldn't have put it better if I tried, @PfS1dQP-3vow. It will take huge amounts just to try bring the entire system both up to date AND to unify it for the entire Whole Foods. The key word here being try.
