Kmart pharmacy closure

The Kmart I currently work at has announced today that it's pharmacy will be closing within 30 days. Is this an indication of where the store is heading or a way for us to eliminate an area that was losing money?

I wonder why it doesn't fit small plan business model? Works for CVS and Walgreens. My store loses between 2 to 3 million in sales if they shut us down. I don't have to have K-MART, there are other higher paying pharmacy jobs with raises. We are just loyal to out customers

Doesn't matter top 50, top 10 , whatever. Pharmacy doesn't fit small floor plan business model that the company is trying to move toward.

Where have you been? 90 plus pharmacies closed this summer, including my former pharmacy. I'm guessing they will liquidate the entire division before the company goes down.

Kmart closed its pharmacy in our local store first, followed by a store closing announcement 2 months later.

The company tipped their cards prematurely when every sales bin ticket was removed and prices reverted to regular price about 2 weeks before the store closing annoucement.

When the Store Closing signs went up and the public descended on the store for "bargains" they actually paid more than if they had purchased them before the store closing annoucement .

Our KMart pharmacy closed just a couple months if that before the store was announced.

Previous posts have said they typically close in-store pharmacies at least a few months in advance of turning that store over to the liquidators, due to licensing and patient-abandonment regulations.

It's looking like they're probably going to end up shutting down all remaining Kmart stores way before the last Sears stores, from what I've heard. Unless the slow-motion implosion suddenly accelerates head of Eddie's schedule and takes them all out at once.

The pharmacy closed first, and then the Kmart closed in about a year or so. Just a correction. I would start looking for a new job, or stay a start saving your money.

If you're working for K-Mart and still thinking you'll have a job in the future, you aren't paying attention to what's going on.

Your store maybe closing in the near future. The Kmart in our city closed first, and the Kmart store closed in about a year or more. Start looking for a new job or start saving your money.
