Thread regarding Chicago Bridge & Iron layoffs

People in glass houses....

A company lead by blind hippocrates and "good old boys" who should have been retired long ago. Layoff should include the weak management and over abundant VPs who provide no value to the organization (you know who you are.......). HSE needs a cleaning after 6 fatalities in 2016. Construction needs a total cleaning as every project is late, over budget and just all around disasterous. Engineering needs a cleaning too as silo engineering doesn't work. And engineering "offshore to add value" is just using half baked Indian engineers to engineer at a cheaper rate because you under bid the job (like every job you buy!)

Blind Hippocrates was a good doctor but a terrible surgeon.

From the way you reply, and your overall attitude, it is obvious why you have not done better with the company (as per your comment, you are disgruntled). Yes, sixteen years of good and bad, but it pays my bills and for every 'bad' person in management, there are many 'good' ones. Perhaps, wherever you land, an attitude adjustment would help your morale.

Good luck with everyone during this rough time.

Prostitutes? Drugs? I get the frustration, but this is hard to believe. Sixteen years with the company, around upper management, and never offered/provided either. Let's keep it real.

There is absolutely no accountability at CBI. I’ve seen numerous people promoted to upper management at director levels with zero experience in the field they’ve been assigned. I’ve never seen anything like it anywhere else.

Payoffs, kickbacks and bribes, theft, drugs (production, sales, use) overdoses, prostitues, more bribes. Not one bit of ethics! And then they wonder why they get no respect in the industry! The market will adjust and CBI will be that "remember when that tank company thought they could do more........"

Speaking of engineering - the failure of the civil engineering on the Cameron project is what caused the delay. Trying to stabilize the marsh land with wet concrete slurry - lololololol... they're still trying to bamboozle Sempra into paying them back for their own failures... then they compound the problem by building an international man camp in Hackberry at the cost of $100 million... that little problem lies solely at the feet of the top guy in construction too...
