Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

XIO and Vplex are no longer

Engineers from both groups either got laid off or moved to a different department. Support engineers will be around for a bit due to contracts etc... Atleast they will have some time to find a new position if they want to stick around

It's understandable for the VPLEX news to be considered fake since there's been no communication around it. But it isn't. The erstwhile VP for VPLEX has now been rewarded with a new portfolio for bungling VPLEX. He is already getting his loyalists from VPLEX in charge of the new product and keep all control in Hopkinton and screw up everything all over again.

When the day comes that you are shown the door, will it be fake news then?

We know there is a lot of talk regarding portfolio simplification and XIO will probably be the first one out of the door. I don't think it will happen any time soon though. They will look at customer adoption for XIO v2 first and will try to make some more money before deciding what to do with it.

I was giving management the benefit of the doubt, but there are some real slimeballs in Irvine and Colorado. I hope they end up getting what they deserve. "When you can fake sincerity, you have it made".
