@Po906ob-2vhx - just about every tech firm has a large number of narcissistic freaks especially as so called leaders. BTW - to various acquired folks, your former firms probably did to. I know Sun did - such freaks were the reason Sun failed. Tech firms that are not dysfunctional in this manner are few and far between. Often, they may start out OK then after the years, get messed up (FB, Goog, Twitter, et al ... I'm looking at you!). I've been around the block a few times. I've seen far worse than ORCL. The worst ever, for me, was actually a start up led by a madman. ORCL is middle-of-the-road in terms of F-up-ed-ness. The grass is not always greener. But in our case, we may now have no choice but to find new niches.

This disgruntled employee excuse is really overused. When you have to refer to EVERYONE who has left Oracle as a "disgruntled" employee, there is something wrong with the company.

The reality is the management at Oracle is full of narcissistic freaks. They manipulate employees to obey them, say nothing back and attack other employees. It is truly sick.

Thus the wonderful posting a while back on the process of putting the employee's balls in a little glass box on the managers desk. Very well put.

And the posting about resigning after realizing they were "breaking bad" at Oracle. People are coerced into doing sh--ty things to other employees.

If you are an Oracle employee and you do not see that happening in your area, you are lucky. Just because you don't see it happening to you, does not mean that a lot of really sh--ty things have been done to other employees.

Or, maybe you are one of the obedient brain-dead thugs who do your master's bidding no matter what, and you just think that's the way it's supposed to be, like the guy that posted he was so proud of f---ing over people after they f---ed him over..... like that's the way it's supposed to be. Well, it's not that way at other companies. The Oracle environment is truly sick.

There is a reason why the company is hated by so many former employees.

Siebel sounded more like a disgruntled ex-employee who had an ax to grind. Usually only the disgruntled are the vocal ones which is why you get such anti-ORCL rhetoric on here. Nothing wrong with that reaction but there's always a background to it.

I worked at Siebel. Tom Siebel came from Oracle. Every quarter TS would run an all-hands meeting where he would go on and on about how stupid LE was.

He would tell the story about how he tried to convince LE that CRM could be an industry all it's own. He finally left Oracle and built the CRM company Siebel. He was right, LE was wrong. So much for LE's DNA and vision. I suspect that LE has missed lots of opportunities along the way. He is certainly not infallible.

Siebel was also built on the premise that the good employees should be kept. They were very good about doing performance reviews. Oracle's lack of requiring performance reviews allows for corruption and has created the management stack of thugs that reward their employees for sabotaging other employees. The acquisition strategy at Oracle then exacerbates the corruption that is rampant throughout the company, providing fresh meat for the evil and corrupt management at Oracle.

Oracle is a classic study on an egomaniac hanging on too long and completely failing in planning for succession so that the company can go on and prosper. That's what egomaniacs do, they take the companies they built down with them because they can't let go. After all, how could anything possibly go on without them!

Everyone gets old.... no matter what. Larry's time has passed. He is unable to come up-to-speed with new ideas. This is the end for him. It's all over except the jumping of the ship by everyone that's paying attention.

LE’s genes are mutated, the DNA strand is now loosing. Look at Oracle’s market cap in Cloud. AMazon hosts more oracle customer dB instances on AWS than Oracle OPC. Oracle still scratching the surface of bare metal with hardly any real IaaS customers. Oracle signs on premise database customers with free cloud credits and calls them us our cloud customers.

Keyword: Ruthless.

Key take away: All others must fail.

Current lesson : Applies to employees too.
