Thread regarding Nike Inc. layoffs

More layoffs incoming

More cuts coming. The EU office in Hilversum is over staffed and under produces. Regional offices around Europe are unnecessary. Expect 10-15% reduction in force before year end. Eventually Nike will centralize more functions back to Beaverton too. Overhead.

Do we have any more info on this?

"i feel for the families impacted but this is by far the dumbest post on this site and extremely short-sighted."

I understand your points but you will understand in some years that you have lost your focus in life (in business more or less you will be fine)

Fully unfair for us also to provide "academical" excuses for this stories in such a profitable companies

Not everything should be included in the cycle of money and shareholders and as long as we accept this nothing will change

"Unfair from Nike to achieve so many profits but create problem in so many families with the layoffs."

i feel for the families impacted but this is by far the dumbest post on this site and extremely short-sighted. if Nike didn't change, "profits" would be impacted even further and even more families would be impacted by even more layoffs. businesses do not exist for employees - they exist for their consumers and the shareholders that own the business. shareholders want "profits". yes, businesses should take very good care of their employees, and Nike does take care of (most of) their employees. restructures happen after periods of rapid growth.
