Club manager this morning announced the cash office to eliminate three positions.
One full time and two part time positions because of installation of a automated cash counting machine, effective Dec 1st. The full time position has been here about 25 years.
Haven't heard about team leads yet!
I am a teamlead in the cash office and I have been with the company for 34 years and was just told my position was eliminated.
The cash office changes have already been made. The audit changes have already been made. Its not the invoice clerks responsibility to do audits. It has been assigned to team leaders and APM. The receiving changes are already happening in some clubs. 2 shifts one 2pm to 10pm and other 4am to noon. The receiving clerk has less and less to do. Most binders/reports have been pulled from receiving office a month or so ago as no longer necessary per home office. Only a couple of bills to pay at most. GNFR just changed this week to scanning a label for ordering supplies. And no more bills to pay there. As far as being the management's go to person that is not what the position was designed for. Work orders have been simplified and can be put in by team leads and managers. Sorry but invoice clerk is being phased out soon. The writing is already on the wall!!!!!
Your comments saying that this site is only rumors, but there are so many people in the clubs that know people higher up that hear these things. Let's be honest,you can say there only rumors but they're coming from somewhere. It's not right to play with peoples emotions, these jobs are peoples lively hoods, a company cannot just run on machines, there is more to it to run a profitable business. What works for one club does not work for another. They need to look closer at each club and see how it runs,some clubs are already running on1 or 2 associates in a dept and are expected to pick up on some audit duties,etc. I look at the rcvg clerk in our club( since everyone is talking about that job being cut) she does more than just sit in an office and answer phones she's receiving ,she's paying bills ,she's putting work orders, she works on the floor, and she is a go-to person for management you cut that and there's going to be so many things that falls through the cracks that can break that corporation.They really need to be careful with these decisions, they are getting rid of a lot of great workers...
PoHxyGy-1kcx. i feel you but i’m taking the severance and going. there’s nothing open here and frankly there’s nothing i want to do. just too old I’m done. done with me then i’m done with sam’s. it does piss me off enormously to train on this thing then train whoever is dumb enough to work 16 or 12 hrs now that’s only machine not working the balance part. there is more to it than pushing buttons
In our club they’re cutting both full timers to part time and kicking out the part timer, it’s b---s---. All because of a machine.
Our machine has aready made it to our club! I'm a 20 Accounting lead and have to find another position in the club! And let me add that I will also have to take a 5% to 10% pay cut for the few full time positions that are available!!! Oh...and I have to train on the machine that is taking my job!!!
