Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

one who lost my job of 31 years

They did a remodel at my club and closed the photolab. I was an associate for 3 years and they offered me a piddling amount for a severance package. I did ask if there were full time positions open and managers I asked said no so I took the severance package cause I didn't want to work part time. After I told them I was taking the severance package I found out that they had offered full time positions to associates who already had full time positions and weren't going to be out of a job so I figured that they just didn't want me there. There are only 4 original associates who had opened our club left from 1986. I'll be very suprised if they keep their job for very much longer. It's not right to do people that way

favoritism is a way of life. i could name one example after another. the gm and a former asst mgr the worst offenders. luckily the asst is gone. such a pathetic situation. i keep debating do i stay and find some hrs elsewhere or say !! and take severance. at least i’m in a position to go pt but do i really want to stay there under the circumstances??? dec1 and counting
