Apparently no one is safe in SaaS ERP. The cuts here will be deep and effect many LOB. The promises from FY17 did not come to fruition. Many thought there would be an upswing in Q1 but to no avail. If you are in SaaS ERP in any function it will be time to dust off that resume. Good news is that Netsuite is hiring!

According to my ERP manager, the management chain in Aria will have some changes next week. Some have "retired" while others have found new employment. Word in the Oracle hallways anyone in high level positions in Sales and CSM orgs with awareness of the ERP financial deals have had enough and are bailing. They do not want to be associated with the major fallout that is about to happen. This will be a PR nightmare and will go public when everything comes to light.
@PqB9VXr-2rnd I suggest that your son should treat the interview with ORCL as practice, and continue his search for proper employment elsewhere, with other companies.
So the "Execs" plan to blame Sales for the deceleration in cloud revenues? Hold on a minute, I clearly recall MH stating, on multiple earnings calls, that Oracle has the best sales people in the market and this is why the ERP portfolio is so strong. Also, SC stated, on last weeks earnings call, that Oracle has a large "backlog" in deploying cloud customers. Most of us know these comments are confusing, if not FALSE, considering the significant amount of financially engineered cloud deals that have been executed to artificially inflate cloud related revenues.
Found in another post here. Seems relevant since we are talking about ERP. I am a recent hire to the CSM ERP team. I am really nervous about what I am reading here and the health of our engagements. I feel like I got screwed being assigned to ERP as we have many No Planned Adoptions. What are my options to move to another team quickly?
FA must be the one of biggest financial disasters in the tech industry. TK killed so many good revenue generating products to invest in FA. We are all waiting for it to become profitable.
Attrition in sales is happening so fast. I hear the plan is to wait it out and see where the numbers fall. They are hoping a layoff is not needed and they will not replace the lost headcount.
Some areas are worst than others. I have not heard anything about HCM cloud. If he is in development I think he will be ok as long as he isn't the highest paid resource. Those folks get cut first. I agree with the others. ERP Cloud has been trying to right size for awhile. The CSM org was nuts devoting over 65% of their workforce to ERP. At least in Sales we had a better grasp of reality.
@2rnd My advice to your son is to stay away from Oracle if possible. They have the most mindless culture. There is little or no scope for innovation, independent thinking, or intelligent decision making. There are also the regular layoffs and the company is really starting to struggle. They are no on the way up.
The most compelling reason to stay away is that most of their technology is horribly outdated, particularly what they're developing and selling. Cloud development is also a mess.
If your son does join Oracle, have a definite exit plan. You can only join the company two or three times in your life without a huge approval process.
What about HCM fusion? Just wondering if this will get impacted in anyway by ERP layoffs. My son is interviewing as a developer in HCM Fusion. Is this division even doing well? Thanks for any insights.
Hi OP, you write as if this is some future event. Unfortunately, the ERP "right sizing" has been underway now for several months.
As promised, the audio link to ES layoff phone call. No trolls here jerk offs.

I was on an internal conference call last week where a CSM said they only have 5 to 7 accounts. I corrected them and said 57 you must be busy. Nope. 5 to 7 was correct. Apparently they scaled out the org to cover the growth projected from last year and this year. Does not look like that team will be very busy.
First up will be Sales, Customer Success and Solution Architects/Consultants. Sales pipeline is drying up, Customer Success renewal rates tell the true story and Solution Architects are not required to provide demonstrations when customers do not want to implement the product. Later in the year Development and Support could be targeted. Management was given the task to rank their staff in the infamous talent tool.
What about Utilities Cloud and the Global Utlilities Business Unit? Are these also targeted for layoffs? Is this BU even doing well? My daughter had applied for a developer position in this group but is now having doubts.
The only place that is safe (for now) is the NetSuite group. If you aren't there then you're a dead man (or woman) walking.
Upswing in Q1...LOL!!
There will be no "upswing" ever again.
Take your heads out of your A___ and look at what's going on in the world.
Time for your Java!
ERP Cloud is part of Fusion Apps. Other pieces are HCM Cloud and CX Cloud.
OP, are you talking about development or sales? Or both?
SaaS ERP... does that mean all of Fusion Apps SaaS? Or is that just a subset?
Is there any division at Oracle that isn't getting clobbered?
