Nothing has changed in IT. It is still the same misogynistic, hostile work environment as before only the remaining employees have been cowed into silence. Everyone knows any complaints will cost you your job. The place is a ghost town and most people work from home if they work at all. Everyone just keeps their head down. No one trusts anyone. Managers have their favorites and their informants. They lord over us with the constant threat of layoffs. I plan to leave soon. I haven't told anyone and don't intend to. I meet recruiters well off campus. I certainly don't list any Nike references. I will follow previous advice I read here and quit on a Friday at the end of the day. I will not give any notice, they wouldn't give me any so why should I give them any? In the meantime I just smile and tell my manager how I think the layoffs were a great idea and how much I respect his leadership, just like a good little girl. New job or no, I am gone by January. I was sorry to see the IT thread scrubbed from here. I guess Nike lawyers got to them after all. It may have gotten personal but it was all true, every last word of it and I mean every last word. The truth hurts, especially when a reporter starts nosing around. Funny how the posts disappeared the moment the Oregonian shows interest. I don't believe in justice but I do believe in karma. The men who turned IT into their own little madman world will one day suffer the consequences. No threats here, I'm talking karma, so you little snowflakes who call yourself men can rest easy with whatever bimbo you're sleeping with tonight. Your reputations will follow you and you will not escape the truth. The whole IT world knows Nike IT and knows it's a joke. Every recruiter told me the same and they respect me because I tell the truth. If I sang Nike's praises I wouldn't get in the front door. My best prospect is led by a Nike IT survivor. The stories we shared! I hope it works out but if not, I will find another. I am done with this site but have learned a lot from all of you. Great advice. Move on, live well and God bless you all.
