It's happening in our club on the schedule starting October 7th. It's not really the point of changing shifts, I mean it is a life change and anybody who has worked it knows that. It's more of the fact of how it was presented vs how it is really playing out. When we were told, we were given a choice of which shift we wanted. Then midweek we were told that not enough people wanted the 2pm shift so now we all are pretty much splitting up and working both shifts. 3 days on the early shift and 2 on the late shift. Or something similar. I am not whining and lucky to have a job, but as a manager for how long? The associates coming to days now and the possible moves in Receiving make me wonder? May empty out the 401k and do my own business or something is yet.

We did this shift back east coast in the early 2000's for about 8 years. Worked fine. Lost the differential.
Our night crew s---s!! They leave trash everywhere. Don't do CIM.
I think they would be held more accountable when supervised better.
Night managers haven't gotten it done for years.
Why is that a fair question dip sh1t? You don't believe it or something? Yeah give the club number lol. Give us your full name and club number. All you need to know is it's in the North possibly by a great lake and definitely in the USA.
Why don’t you tell us what region and club u are from I think that’s a fair question
Some of you might be happy to not havhave a night shift however some of us needed that shift for our family dynamics. The shifts are 4-12:30 and 230-11. Not a whole lot can be done with stocking on morning shift you only get three hours to do it and the second shift you only get two hrs without customers on the sales floor unless the hours the doors open get changed to again follow stores that we've always strived to be better than. We on our night crew too a lot of pride into our work and always did more than expected we could do...now that drive is gone. Welcome to the dayshift mentality! Not just the hourly workers are being affected by this, our coach is too. We were not just co-workers we are a family, a team the worked very hard together that's now being torn apart for a damn test that I hope blows up in their collective faces!
Some clubs have noise ordinances where they can't receive overnight hours
Sam's club hasn't always had night receiving. Costco doesn't have night receiving probably one reason why they don't open until 10am.
Regardless...its possible to run a business with day receiving.
What let's me is the simple fact that anyone whom has tried their hardest to do their best even during the worst times of their lives for the better of their club and we get shafted! Ruining families! My children will suffer for a damn test!?!? Where is the incentive to work hard to try our best anymore? Why work 40+ pallets per person anymore when you're screwing over your best crew in your club!?! How will the club get swept, dock run, the date checks done, test scanning? How about not enough equipment for the employees whom actually use it how it's intended! You can't get the slackers to stop putting pallet jacks in the cooler let alone do actual work on the sales floor with a TC70 to bin or pick pallets, or even to simply update pallets, how about locations and shelf caps....yet we are to mold them into something they can never be! Biggest mistake you can make is to take night crew out and make Sam's club first and second shifts only.
PriDw8u-qmj Severance is only offered if your job is eliminated all of audit and the acct lead lost job. Recv still has job just being told hrs change. Prob losing night differential
They can't get rid of all receiving then put someone in there. That is a law suit waiting to happen.
how else do you manage to get more associates on the floor without actually hiring you move nights to days of course now those guys have to stock and help members win win for everyone right
So when they force the change in shift is night crew allowed to take Severance like Audit and Accounting have been offered?
I dont understand how all that stocking is supposed to get done while the club is open. What about entire shifts of slotting freight in the steel? But no overnight receivers either? LOL. This is amusing. I cant wait to get off of overnights! Bring it on!
They are getting rid of the overnight manager and all the other managers will share that role. They are getting rid of everyone in receiving and overnight people will take turns doing shifts there.
What market are u in I have several night crew associates like 24 are they all coming to days ? Are u just a test club ?
What market are you in that the shift changes are starting?
So what it comes down too is the can save those extra.50 cent and not pay over night difference.... they can save a little extra from every club and increase the big wigs bonus cuz we all know it's not going to help the associates
Starts in our club in October. Will be all clubs eventually.
I work in maitenance all day shifts whats gonna happen
When does this new shift(s) start?
So happens to the receiving lead and the clerk?
A mix of 4-2 and 1-11. Not a set schedule which I understand, just very life changing. Basically take it or leave it.
Fill us in some more. So you were a overnights mgr working 9-7 s-t? Now what are u gona work?
