Those of us who work inside the machine know better. An analyst only knows what the execs tell him. Maybe he should go

talk to actual customers who don't want this sh--.

Unfortunately the current performances of OCI (new name of OPC) for IaaS/PaaS are substandard in several ways.... The worse is the time you need to start a new service, I've tried to help my cu starting first a demo and then the production for a DBaaS on OCI and it took 3 months just to start the basic services.... And the second worse is how you change an existing service, in some cases you will need to sign a new contract, really too complex and time consuming..... no good, and for sure not "cloud-like".

Hopefully with gen2.1 things will change, but OCI as it is now is basically unusable as a cloud, unless your cu want to use it in "on-prem-like" way, i.e. a pure hosting. And also in this case, you will have sometimes some problems due to unexpected downtime.

Don't know first hand for SaaS so that could be actually ok.

Another clueless journalist who doesn't know anything about today's technology landscape and didn't talk to anybody who actually knows what's going on at oracle. Here's a clue: oracle's cloud products are pure crap and cannot compete with the likes of SFDC, AWS, etc. now go write an article that ads value
