Thread regarding Molina Healthcare Inc. layoffs

Any Molina cuts beyond IT coming tomorrow?

Anybody have an idea of whether there will be more layoffs Thursday beyond IT? Thursday seems like it would make the most sense to finally finish ripping off this band-aid.

I feel like the restructuring at least is not complete...? It's odd how they currently have people at the same level reporting to each other, e.g. AVP reporting to another AVP; Dir reporting to another Dir.

Anyone have thoughts on whether additional structural changes will be announced?

Posted by @PsNmjJ5-ewn in another thread, but I was wondering the same thing. Any info would be highly appreciated.

Thank you first reply poster for such a reasonable dissertation. You make so much sense.

The fact that a planned, wellness event is taking place doesn't mean lay offs won't happen. In fact, I know someone who just got hired at Molina. People are laid off AND people are still being hired. It would make sense if you saw the bigger picture here....which is that this is all a moving picture and it is not all perfectly connected. There were lay offs yesterday. There will continue to be lay offs. That wellness event was planned by totally different folks than who work on the lay offs and it was likely planned long ago. All these questions about whether or not there will be more layoffs are a bit silly. Of course there will be. Read about Molina in the Healthcare Industry press and in stock market publications.....the sale of the membership is obvious. I recommend learning how such things transpire. Anyone who thinks the layoffs will stop at some point in time is being naive. Do not expect your leadership to know what is happening. Do not expect Molina to tell you what your future holds. It's no one's responsibility but ours. Educate yourself. No one is a victim. Molina is a company, not a person. It has made and will continue to make choices that are in it's best interest...a sale is clear. Prepare yourself for what that will mean to you. None of this is odd, if you look at the bigger picture. It's exactly how companies are bought and sold. In healthcare....usually the membership, not the infrastructure. There are no surprises here. Be ready. Be aware. Best of luck to all!

I really thought more layoffs would be coming on Thursday, but now I’m having 2nd thoughts, at least for those working at Molina center in LB. There’s an employee wellness event all afternoon...it seems like it would be odd to hold that on a day they were doing any significant number of layoffs.
