Honeywell Glendale is one of many companies that produces items of “National Importance”. We take immense pride in supporting our customers with the finest Control Moment Gyroscopes ever produced on Earth.
We understand the vital role that our products play for this great nation, which makes It also our duty to assure the integrity and continuity of the development, design, production, and field support of the CMG product line.
It is because of this sense of duty that we are forced, and saddened, to plea to the U.S. Government: Please save the CMG product line!
It is not a secret that Honeywell-Glendale is going through a phase of great uncertainty:
-
Through many voluntary and involuntary terminations over the past few years, we have lost a very significant number of extremely talented individuals.
-
Once a proud and dedicated workforce, we have now reached a point where people at large, speak openly without concern and practically boastfully about looking for jobs at other companies.
-
We know that our customers do not want CMGs produced by a workforce that is apathetic, disgruntled, demoralized. But that is what we have after years of little to no merit increases, many furloughs, 10% quotas of workers on the dreaded “backwards-L”, Mandatory Overtime masqueraded as EEI metrics, extremely limited promotions even for the best of the dedicated workers, squashed salaries, non-competitive benefits, and 2nd level management that is known for their incompetence and lack of respect for their employees – who will ever forget the botched 9/21 engineering all-hands meeting where employees were openly mocked in front of a large audience, for asking honest questions that many were grateful for? And the list keeps going on.
-
While the ageing brain trust of the CMG product line is terminated, leaves, or retires, their replacements are nowhere to be seen! The younger workforce, although competent, goes for years without recognition and the smarter ones also leave - lest they end up with a tainted resume showing years of service without a single promotion.
For the sake of those who work tirelessly to keep us safe, we most sincerely hope that something can be done quickly: Please Save the CMGs!
With the best of intentions,
Concerned Makers of Critical Space Products (those who are still left)
