Thread regarding Honeywell International Inc. layoffs

checking out

just getting out of 4 heart bypass 1.5 weeks ago, i woke up and smelled the coffee at 64, theres no reason to work yourself to death over 401 s and big pensions.

my problem was hereditary. but now I realize life's not about cool cars and fancy / big houses, love and friends mean more to me now than ever,im leaving my job at hon to enjoy what time I have left, our time on this earth is a short one.so be a good person and enjoy yourself,,,

amen

Good luck to you sir. Great decision. I left at 62 years and 4 days. As soon as I could collect SS as well as my HON pension. Had the last laugh. Mgr. told me I was being assigned to a new position. I didn't want it and told him so. I took all the training and after being in the position for like 2 months and doing very little I sent him an email( he was on vac.) on like a Thursday and said Oh BTW friend my last day is tomorrow find someone else to fill this position. Have great Honeywell day!

Good for you. There are other health hazards too. To all guys 40's and over: don't skip the annual checkup and prostate screening. Not a problem if caught early.

I was one of the fortunate ones who actually made it to 65, i retired that day.

My blood pressure has gone way down and the overall stress is dictated solely

by ME! There is life after honeywell, hang in there if you can but, be aware you might

be better off physically and mentally if you can't. It's been almost six months and i could

not imagine going back to that daily grind of honeywell. I was in a fortunate position that my

manager was actually trying to do good for his people and it was still a dread to go to work everyday.

Wishing the very best to you and your family. Honeywell has a way of s---ing the life out of you -especially since the last few years. Even if you think you are handling it well - sustained unrelenting stress and frustration takes a toll on your health and is a killer for sure.

That is so true. Life should be enjoyed; family and friends are number 1. All the best to you

Good for you! I will be doing the same as soon as I find something else, I'm leaving my badge, phone and laptop at my desk and just leaving. I won't even tell anyone I'm quitting....I'm just going to stop showing up. They'll figure it out.
