Any update on what will be new org and size of BU?

You clearly don't realize the total number of contractors and blue badges that were in SJV at the peak since apparently you don't think there were 4,000 people working in SJV. There was an almost 1:1 ratio of contractors to emp. I don't care what your math says. Reality is it was still about 75% reduction in the workforce. You would rather marginalize other's math skills; something else you clearly don't know anything about.
@lyjg, If you are going to make a mathematically based comment, you should at least be able to pass a high school math equivalency test, at a minimum. That is a level that you obviously have not reached, evidenced by your comment. Please go back to school and let us know when you have acquired the basic minimum level of competency. Until then, please refrain from posting anything math-based.
This is how math actually works...
The new org has a total of 859 people. If the reduction was 81% that would mean there were 4,521 employees in 2014 which is much more than double we actually had.
If your gonna argue “math” at least do it correctly.
26% of the remaining staff of 25% is a little over 6%. Add this to the 75% reduction and you have a total reduction if 81-82% of the original staffing number. That is how math works.
75% plus 26%? Holy mackerel that’s 101%! That is like laying off absolutely everyone then hiring a few more and laying them off as well. May as well merge with DWEP.
For all you venom spitting jerks saying people were in denial, you're ignorant. This isn't the first cut. This is another 26%. SJV had already cut almost 75% from 2014 levels.
26% is nothing. Most Chevron operations have had at least a 30% cut in 2015. A few of the duller managers didn't read their balance sheets and catch on until 2016. I guess SJV was the last wake up to reality. Who is the MD?
For those of you who think this is a shock, you were in denial the entire time. This BU has too many people just collecting a paycheck, and then complaining when they are asked to work. Maybe next time you have a good job you won't take it for granted.
Keep telling you....you don’t listen....run to Mid-of-no-land to save your life. This BU will be for sale soon. There is no long term viability of this BU....
Looks like we were all wrong. The cuts were deeper than anybody could have anticipated, outside of upper management.
Not all of us, jvqu. Only 26% of us are cooked.
We're all f---ed
Did they show the new org chart?
Says 26% of all employees. So does that mean 26% of O&M or just all employees as a whole.
New org will have 859 employees. Anywhere from 26%-33% cut depending on if you count people who have already left in off-cycle or fall PDC. 85% open positions in the ROM.
What time will they release the numbers today?
No need to look long and hard at 1400 Smith to find a moron. They can be seen on every floor in the building at all hours of the day.
??????
Anybody here have to sit through the SJV RAC review this week? And they're laying US off? That head of Global Reserves is a clueless moron! Someone needs to look long and hard at 1400 Smith!
%?
Heard a rumor of 60 for KR/MWS. Just a rumor at this point.
Any new rumors on a numbers per area
October 18-19 the town halls are all scheduled to reveal the new org charts. Still no info on #s
Are we saying 30% valley wide? Who's got it broken down by general area?
How many total O&M employees are there?
30% is quite a bit of people. Roughly 36 per union depending on how they slice it.
That 30% is pretty steep if true. Good luck to all.
I've heard 30% roughly 73 OM
These kids don't know their left from their right. Don't worry kids, I just put my paperwork in. I was told from management to not hold my breath waiting on an incentive. Good luck trying keep a job for the next 35 years.
I would much prefer to see the pesky little do-nothing entitled millennials go first, who come in to collect a paycheck, get here late and leave early after a little brown-nosing, as if that's their job. Any of these new kids been taught about having to work for a living, or do they all think that life is free?
It would be nice to see some dinasours leave first. I see to many senior citizens just collecting a paycheck and not pulling their weight.
I’ve noticed Chevron likes to go through layoffs in the final stretch of the year going into the holiday season. The SOB’s must be sadists. Seems like they prefer to do their Spring cleaning in the Fall.
Notice going out next month. Expect a solid number.
I heard they will continue the house cleaning and cutting out the dead wood.
I'm curious to how many O&M employees will be laid off.
