So in NC the demo specialists were given to Jan to find a new position....and it begins! Can you say lowered wages?

HES and CDS were eliminated in 2015 in NE. 1 metro marketing for 3 stores. 1 person booking guest venders for all NE stores. LOL what a joke. Demo was the special link to customers and up selling. Sadly the kids they hire don't know what quinoa, non GMO or gluten free is. They bring burger king to the break room! Stupid WFM
Our store doesn't have a demo person, it's been a few months. He was put back into a department. We also have one marketing person for 3 stores. I'm in the mid Atlantic region New Jersey.
I would think that all regions will have the same set-up/job positions in the future.
Whole Foods has always allowed each region to operate fairly independently. I don't think that will continue much longer. I believe that all regions will operate identically, cookie cutter style.
Let's face it... The only way for Amazon to turn this ship around is to make changes to systems that, obviously, weren't working. Demo specialists have been obsolete, in several regions, for years. I am surprised to hear that there are regions that still have them!
No one knows what the future holds, but rest assured, there will be change. This means you have 2 choices:
1) buck the system any way you can and make yourself miserable
2) go with the flow and learn to adapt to change
It's really that simple
Ok yeah- in NC too...wonder how long they will last?
They have metro marketing TL now
You still have marketing team leaders??? That got eliminated over 2 years ago in NC.
Like the hsh coordinator jobs that got cut, this one was just obviously on the chopping block. I hope some of the other "healthy eating" educator type bs jobs get cut too. Leave money in the budget for real jobs on the floor.
I wish the south region would go ahead and fire the useless marketing TLs too... too much money to do nothing but stand around and grow a long beard and look hipstery while talking about bikes... and having your tm's make your fb posts for you cause you're at the park with your family...
My region has been pushing stores to fill the position, but that might just be because of the holidays coming up.
Its def. not in line with the direction we're going considering new vendor relation standards. Demo specialist opens a line of communication with vendors that we dont need anymore.
That position was eliminated in my region several years ago......and it continues?
