It's funny after working for GE for 30 years... They would BRAG about 17 quarters of double digit growth while paying NO TAXES. Jeff ran the company into the ground! GE stock split 3 for 1 in 2000. Stock has NEVER been even close to the new split value. 152/3 around 50 dollars a share. Both parties let it happen.

GE pulls the same crap over and over. Promise hundreds of jobs will be created, for a tax tax break. Then over time the company does not deliver jobs or the demand for the jobs. In ~ 4 years the planned jobs get cut. Even worse, GE decides to pick up sticks and move completely to lower cost region in the world. If I were the localities offering these breaks , I would ask for the tax revenue back that was lost if GE does not hit it committed goals on jobs promised. If you want to watch a company deliver on adding jobs take look at Amazon. GE should take a few pages from their growth book.

GE is in bed with governments. There is no way a company could operate as inefficiently as GE without some sort of welfare structure.
