Poster child of Cisco's growth missed the numbers second time in a row.

Layoffs imminent.

Any news on layoffs in SBG? See a lot of closed door meetings and second level managers acting weird.

Whalen has Cisco ever fired someone because they've missed their numbers? I know people who have done it year after year but are still on the payroll. Your more likely to be chopped if to somehow don't hit the desired demographic. It's not surprising about the security number, no one has a clue about how the security market works. Companies don't want single vendor solutions that hackers can spend all their efforts working out how to crack because they are so widely adopted. There is benefit from having multiple vendors, in you architecture. Unfortunately Cisco wants to ignore this and things customer will buy from a one stop shop, because this is what Cisco needs to stem the bleed of its revenue from the decline in switching.

No one in sales has the slightest idea about how to sell security. Just a bunch order takers and POS surfers. Sack the AM and start paying the SE's to sell. The age of the relationship sales guy in tech is over.

Firewalls still make the most money and ngfw shipped defective as hell. That’s the issue. I think they already beat that dead horse
