Employment at will, is the legal term. They can get rid of you at anytime for any reason. You can quit at any time for any reason.

Because most of the employees are in the US, and it is relatively easy with the US employment at will laws

FWIW, layoffs happened under Obama, even when the Dems controlled Congress. They did nothing to change the status quo.

But yes, layoffs happen in the US because it's easy. Severance packages are not required by law. The federal WARN laws are a joke. I know of people who were laid off from smaller firms who were lucky to get two weeks pay, if anything at all.

Because US labour laws are a sick joke. Now go vote for politicians who will change that and not clowns with a caterpillar for hair.
