Thread regarding Humana Inc. layoffs

Humana layoff mtgs today Nov 2 2017

Humana is having meeting today with new staff hired in July-Aug, telling them we are laying you off at year end. Expected profits and low membership is being blamed. Not enough members for the HAH program. Specifically told not to talk about it. Screw that! If your not in this group I suggest you get prepared. Once they see new enrollment numbers I'm sure it will be re-evaluated again.

Maybe "Tilly" is on the payroll wanting us to report this to HR. Then that would be an admission of who has been going on this website. IF you are dumb enough to call members from your personal phone, it better be a burner phone, because the FBI can find you. For all those laid off except Tilly, I am very sorry that this happened so close to the holidays. The role does not matter. I, for one, put myself in your place every day leading up to yesterday. I can breathe a sigh of relief this morning and I know that you can't. Best wishes for all. I also believe that there will have to be more layoffs in the first quarter, after exact open enrollment numbers are known, along with how many members moved to monitored. Another thing, anyone who would or consider, or call and scare our members is a worthless piece of p--p.

Tilly is full of s$%&t! She's just wants everyone to think she's bada$$. Doing that is illegal. She knows it. I believe Tilly is the only one who deserved to be laid off!

Tilly, you would risk your nursing license for revenge? There are thousands of nursing jobs out there.I hope you get caught!

Well, I certainly hope Tilly and her merry band of rogue nurses are never my nurses! What an ignorant group of people! Y'all deserved to lose your jobs for pulling deal like this! I can't wait for the first member to call Humana to say they got a call from you! Hope you have good lawyers!

How cruel to call members and advise them of what’s happening! That is just evil and Karma will get you! Get a grip

Wow just a little unprofessional and why burden the member because you’re feeling upset?

@Tilley, I'm calling BS on you! Are you really that dumb? For one, you are violating HIPAA by using member's contact information personally and risk a hefty fine from that. 2. The company can now sue you for slander if/when the company finds out who you are. (my husband is an attorney and I just asked him). 3. You will forfeit all severance and unemployment if caught. Are you that well off that you can risk all of that? Dont think a member will call Humana? Think again!

You are risking jobs of hard working people...you selfish SOB!

Funny how not one nurse was outraged when the PHCs and CHEs were decimated over the past 10 months. Now the outrage because how dare they fire a nurse. Someone even posted how they were going to the newspaper because the country will rally behind nurses. No one cares but you and your family and friends that a health insurance company that gauges it's members, had a massive layoff. Perhaps I will notify the Louisville and Tampa papers and let them know what some rogue nurses are doing so they can investigate.

I am sorry you were laid off, so was I. I think what you are doing though is very immature. I havent been under my coach for long but she is truly a good person and I really appreciate her. I liked my team mates too. Some are still there and I would not do something so stupid that would possible cost others their job. It is not their fault. Yes you can be mad at Humana that is fine but think of others also

Tilly.....are you serious? You could face criminal and civil penalties with what you are doing. Stop now.

For the one millionth time...MF didn't take the program down! Are you seriously that stupid? It was his predecessors who had zero business sense who set it up to fail.

Please don't scare the members by making these stupid phone calls or further harming your coworkers that are left. Retaliation is not the answer. However, I am sorry you have been traumatized Tilley. It is hard for those of us that are left to see our coworkers whom we've worked with hand in hand through good times and bad go. You are in my prayers. Please don't add to the trouble by making these phone calls. Things are hard enough.

@Q3Fzyp0-1ipz So lets get this straight. Humana laid you off today, until then you were happy to take their money no matter how they got it. Now you want to ruin the business that keeps food on my kids table. Well good for you a$$wipe. You got what you deserved.

Mike Franks took HAH down....figured this would happen. Go glad I got out when I did. Sorry so many are going through these layoffs, but believe me you will be glad to be out of that environment.

Hilarious! A group of us; HCMs, have pulled together and have been calling our members from our own phones telling them to find another company for health insurance when they reenroll over the next several mos. We are being blatantly honest and sharing how horrible and wicked this company is to its employees and that they care less about our members. We are going out....but these bozos are going down.

I agree @ widdle, we should be able to talk about anything. Unfortunately it's not reality. The corporate surveys on evaluating management are not anonymous and I have seen repercussions to those who have spoken their minds. It's sad that management is so self righteous to assume someone on a lower level is not astute so much that they often dismiss or belittle. Upper management egos are the pitfall. Some coaches and coms execute a bullying mentality, disheartening to say the least and no t at all in line with company values.

Yes. People were told not to talk about it, to others or to go public on any "websites".... wonder if they meant here. This is so much a shame since, in a transparent organization, we should be free to talk about our feelings, challenges and options instead of having to post on a forum such as this. But what do I know? I am just a widdle people.

I was one of the new hires that received the news today. I am a nurse with HAH and have been here for a total of 45 days. I am mostly disappointed that I left a good job with a great Manager thinking that I was moving to the dream job...Ha! Well it is depressing but I will pick my lip up off the ground and move on. I am curious how we were selected. I think most of the people hired in with me were also laid off but I do know of one that said she did not get the invitation to the confidential meeting so I am not sure why she was chosen to stay. It was asked in the meeting how we were selected and we were informed that it was done by a Humana approved process and that is all they would say.

You have to believe what you hear and in our meeting it was "be sensitive to those affected and don't discuss" . Even Nick Wallander referred to gossip in his Buzz email this afternoon. I quote " I want to clarify a big detail that seems to have some confusion surrounding it. Consider this your confirmed source rather than the rumor mill ( I've received a few emails referring to rumors - stop those rumors people!) Well, Nick I guess you weren't on the "need to know" list buddy. Hang in there Nick, Friday's coming.

Late meeting today to address, they couldn't stop the rumor mill. Basically any new hires will be out by Jan 2nd 2018. Told to be sensitive to those leaving and not discuss. HAH is reorganizing and can't give us any encouragement about further layoffs or future plans for retaining this program. Pretty much a deflating meeting at the end of the day. Given the current climate it would be wise to consider your options now and be prepared. All I can say at this point is I need a vacation a Calhoun bath or a hallmark channel holiday movie binge. It is what it is, management FAILURE. Good luck to everyone in the New Year. Peace out!

OP. Are you saying they told new hires that they will be laid off at the end of the year? That doesn't sound believable but I wasn't in the meeting.. Please clarify

Rather you are told or not in order to get your severance package you have to sign a paper basically stating you won't discuss it with the media blah blah blah. Been there done it in the first round in April. Glad I'm out. S---ed then but take them for every dime you can get and run. They don't care about you, your family, or the members.

Many of my members have signed with other health insurance companies. Their doctors are not taking Humana anymore and members don't want to change their doctors
