After dedicating more than 20 years with the company I've just become another statistic. Laid off on Thursday morning. Never had a bad review and actually was personally selected to help form one of their new areas just a few years ago. All those long days, nights, weekends, and putting this place before everything. I was so stupid. Still trying to wrap my head around what just happened.

Sorry to hear about this. I heard they are doing more in 2017 to take place in 2018 so I pray for everyone that will be impacted. I do not know what departments or how many will be impacted but one is too many when Larry and team makes millions and talks about spending billions on Aetna
What department did you work?
Oddly the 600 person lay off last year was almost to the day of this one. Sadly i was in the group last yr. So unprofessional, they called me on the phone to tell me...horrible how everyone truly is just a number in corporate America.
I was a casualty from last year layoff, it is a shocker after 28 years. Not to mention the person that gave me the bad news was a new guy with the company. He could have care less what he was doing just in a days work. At least the HR person was compassionate. But there is life after CVS, I wish you the best.
Are the layoffs over or is it just beginning
I'm hearing 1500 to be let go.
Sad to hear this.
I hope all turns out well for you.
Mi wife got laid off too, it's sad to hear all the stories here on layoffs.com - it's really sad.
At the same time, It's good to hear that we are not the only family to struggle (not in a negative way, I dont wish bad to anyone - I wish we were the only one but it's good to hear that we can hear from others too), I mean there are more similar families and we can share the experience.
They’re wanting to keep the numbers quiet until earnings are released Monday
Good morning. I am very saddened to hear about the layoffs. I retired from CVS after 21 yrs of service. Many of my former colleagues were impacted by past and the most recent layoffs. I'm sure they and their families are going through stressful times. I survived several layoffs during my time at CVS. It was stressful to say the least. I must say career at CVS was, for the most part, an enjoyable experience. I worked very hard, and logged long hours, but I was well compensated for all my efforts. I not one of the "big shots" eluded to in the attached emails. Wish I was. I worked hard, invested wisely, and had some "luck" along the way. I considered myself in the "middle management" group. I must say that I was always treated with respect and dignity. Times are changing. Whether we like it or not. I am not an expert by a long shot but I do have my opinions on why all the change. The health care fiasco is effecting pharmacy profit margins and have been for several years. I have no idea what the answer is to this problem. Many in the public domain are proposing a "one payer" system. You could call this socialized medicine. They say it is "free". Nothing is free. Someone is paying for it. I have heard that the aforementioned usually leads to rationing. If you look around the world at countries with socialized medicine you will find that ours is still the best by a long shot but there is a movement toward more government involvement in health care in our country. All you have to do is take a look at how health premiums have increased and continue to do so over the past decade. Amazon is definitely going to impact ALL retail. Amazon is already applying licensing for the distribution of pharmaceuticals in about 20 states. This is not good for the retail industry. Lots of challenges face us. A lot of people will be impacted, positively and negatively. I wish everyone the best of luck.
Sad to hear . Do you know how many got laid off at corporate
