GE Power Greenville November 7th Announcements

On November 7th, there is supposed to be a meeting within the entire GE department in Greenville. Layoffs may or may not be mentioned, thoughts??? Work is slow here and it’s looking like entire departments may be shut down. That AMW plant was a failure too, so maybe that’ll be cut? Just my thoughts, none of it is factual.

@Q5RLwj5-2aay GE deserves bankruptcy and the probability is high that it will happen.

Fact: Announcement in Greenville today that 30% of manufacturing and sourcing’s salaried personnel will be cut. Everyone (in those groups) has to reapply for their jobs, only 70% will be employed when it settles. Similar number for non-salary in manufacturing.

Speculation: This is probably just the beginning. Expect significant cuts in engineering staff under Lammas. Will be lots of empty desks at GTTC, GTTL, Barnwell, etc...

Some really negative posts on here. I can’t believe anyone would wish thousands of families the pain of losing their livelihood. Whomever does think like this must very lonely and bitter.

Hopefully, will just be some Temporary Layoffs. And maybe some people will have to work in different areas or shifts where there is more work. Possibly some salary cuts. We will see Tuesday

Greenville has deteriorated significantly since the current plant manager has taken power. His rehearsed speech tomorrow will be nothing but political talking points. He will not tell us the truth.

All employee meetings in Greenville are always the same. The plant manager always goes through financial numbers and future orders. They will also show the accomplishments this year such LMS and Repair work. Talking Points are practiced prior to the meeting and PowerPoints are polished. Everyone will walk out more confused than when they walked in. A lot of political spin and nothing more.

Nobody knows what would they tell you in the meeting! I think they going to tell you they trying to bring more work in, and they would rather not layoff anybody!!

GE has been so badly managed for so many years, that it finally caught up to them.
