They use FMW? They are in big trouble. Almost all of FMW is considered "on-prem" and not funded anymore. No matter how much our stuff is used in the cloud, TK thinks of FMW as dead.

I went to one of their interviews for a sys admin position which turned out to be a release engineer position. I didn't make it as they did not disclose I needed to do a scripting exam so failed that.

From what I know the platform is built using mainly oracle and FMW/weblogic with a bit of Cassandra and custom scripts. What I'm worried about is the weblogic side as there seems to be little activity there in terms of product innovation or support. So there's a question mark on weblogic support for netsuite going forward. And the custom scripting thingy is a bit of a worry too. Would have thought it would be more standard git/jenkins

Based on what I've seen, it looks like NetSuite is Oracle's best shot at growth and profit for the near term future. The fact that so many large corporations have been burned my Oracle's sales and licensing practices (and, therefore despise Oracle) coupled with how Oracle's products fall behind the competition in various ways is part of the reason Oracle is experiencing revenue challenges. NetSuite opens up a totally new market where Oracle can have a fresh start. That should give the Netsuite team the ability to grow and experience success for a while.

Netsuite will be ok for awhile. In fact most folks on the ERP side are quickly jumping ship and moving into Netsuite. ERP Cloud is a joke and is nothing but financial deals. There was a plan to throw as many resources at the problem to get customers to implement but it has failed. Now they are looking at major layoffs across all LOB in ERP over the next two quarters to avoid triggering WARN. Apparently Netsuite also pay more.

Since Oracle just acquired Netsuite, I doubt it. If Netsuite can deliver growth, there will probably be few if any RIFs; if it doesn't deliver growth ... you know the story.
