Has anyone asked their coach for a reference? Does this have to go through HR or can coaches give written references if they want?

Ask anyways. Humana and most companies will only do employment verification. They can be sued if they give out negative reviews. You can still ask or ask them to endorse you on LinkedIn.
My coach would not provide references, unfortunately said only HR is allowed
I was told by manager they could not provide reference outside Humana. It was against Humana to provide a written or verbal reference
I left in June and my coach gave me a reference for my new job. So shouldn’t be a problem. Good Luck!!!
