Thread regarding Advance Auto Parts Inc. layoffs

IT is the next thing to crash at AAP

So AAP fans did ya know your new interim CIO has no formal IT training - heck he doesn't even have an associates degree. He just gave the service desk manager the job of fixing APEX. If it didn't have such a possible impact to hurt the organization even more I'd be laughing out loud - but it just means my stock will continue to lose value. I know the company is suffering but let's not let IT go down in flames - let's hire a real leader to help get this bus back on the road.

Yeah he claims he went to Harvard Business School. He did, for a continuing education leadership seminar put on for Staples. That must be where he developed his complex mental process.

The IT people with knowledge and credentials have been run out of town because they cost too much and threaten those without the degrees expected to run a Fortune 100 IT shop.

No one with any intelligence would take that job given the mess it is in. So here ya go flunky.

AAP employees don't have what they need to succeed versus the competition. Plain and simple. Not having the inventory is the biggest obstacle. Not having the tools to find the correct part is another. I believe this is done so on purpose, for whatever reason....bankruptcy, buyout etc etc. I have my opinion of Advance, and it's not a nice one.

Yes, we are Advance Auto Parts, losing sales, in store computer systems that constantly fail, understaffed and underpaid, yet we are still suppose to drink the Kool-Aid ? Wake Up Morons, this ship is sinking fast with no leadership, no employee respect, no customer respect, we are the laughing stock of the industry.

IT needs to be moved to Raleigh. Roanoke can't recruit the talent it needs to thrive. Also having a CIO without even a bachelor's degree is kind of odd. Doesn't make much sense, but nothing does these days. Best of luck AAP!

I am sorry but I think it is too late. If you replaced the leaders today it would be 6 months before something would be able to be fixed. Also the good people have left or looking to leave it will be additional 6 months to get them back. I do not think the company has 1 year of no action
