KMart was never a "great American icon". It was the original big box place to buy cheap sh!t. They should have reinvented themselves and either sold their sh!t cheaper like Walmart or gotten better sh!t like Target. Instead they just kept selling cheap sh!t one could get at Walmart but at Target prices in run down dumpy stores. Not that Walmart stores are nice, but at least they periodically refresh them. Heck, the Super K's weren't even nice when they first opened.

I don't get anyone who no longer works for the company who has something against it....what is the point? Just move on....Unless you weren't paid for the time you worked no one has wronged you. Today's world is different. Companies aren't loyal and neither are employees. In most states employment is at will....You can have a job one day and not the next. I don't personally agree with this way of life, but it is what it is. No reason to get worked up over something you can't control.

It seems to me like most of the people wh--e rooting for bankruptcy are past employees who got laid off.

debtor - a person in debt.

creditor - a person to whom money is owed.

SHLD is a debtor; it owes Eddie and numerous other entities money. Eddie and the other entities are creditors; they are awaiting payment on loans, goods and services they provided to SHLD.

Bankruptcy and stock price are independent of each other. Though stocks tend to trend to 0 as bankruptcy approaches.

Numerous vendors, landlords, utility companies, and even employees are debtors. Eddie just dwarfs them all.

Eddie is the only debtor.

Disagree? Name another.

@eis - Real SHLD employees are not rooting for bankruptcy, however, we are not blind, we can see the handwriting on the wall.

I don't think anyone is looking forward to bankruptcy, as much as they are completely fed up. Ironically, had the debtors forced sears into bankruptcy before all equity was gone, there would still be some value, and likelihood of reemergence. That is very unlikely now, since only Eddie is willing to loan the company money, and even that tap will eventually run dry.

Note to Real SHLD employees:

Are any of you rooting for bankruptcy? No, of course not. Now ask yourself, why would someone....
