"Did u read, Sears is opening stores not closing!!!"

They opened like 1 new store and remodeled another 1, according to https://www.thelayoff.com/t/Qa6gY7x

Meanwhile, dozens of stores are starting liquidation: https://www.thelayoff.com/t/Q3UqrKD

@1ioi Question for whom? I don't care about these things.....it's not worth obsessing over. Just come to work while you have a job. If one day you don't look for a new job. That simple.

So, I guess the questions are - how big is the remaining pension for 100k employees.

What is the real value of the assets ?

What is owed vendors , and other entities?

How long will the Pension Guarantee

Trust let Sears exist as a whole ?

Pensions earned that fall below $265 dollars a month have been shifted to Met Life . Some have been bought out lump sum.

The rest are still on the company books and got funded once more with the promised sale of more property. 100,000 pensions hang in the balance. Still a huge debt - relieved for 2 years.

S&P Global Ratings this week lowered Sears' credit rating deeper into junk territory from CCC+ to CCC. Sears Holdings Corp. has more than $1 billion of debt maturities in 2018.

I don't know if it's such a good buy.
