Thread regarding Qualcomm Inc. layoffs

Please post the history of your manager / director / VP NO NAMES PLEASE

My VP:

Does not care for anyone which is not caucausian.

He hangs out with few directors from same team and keep promoting them only.

He spend 1.5hrs at the gym everyday.

He goes home early and does not care even if urgent issues arise.

Only support promotions for buddies.

He agree to any request from PTE as he has no voice.

He never meet the whole team and never have all hands meetings.

He has his own agenda.

He is one of the worst VP's at QCT.

Nepotism, Nepotism, Nepotism.... Only incompetence guys got promoted. As long as you follow communist rules, obey your "leaders" and speak no English, you will have a great career ahead! F$%k HR for letting this kind of sh-- happen here, it is disgusting.

HR / ER is a joke

As an employee of X group if you go to HR / ER to complain, the HR/ER person is in the office of VP of Group X the next hour telling him/her everything, and that poor employee's career is done for.

Complaints were filed in Sept 2015 with the way layoffs were done, nothing came off it

All I can say is Karma comes to haunt for injustice done to very hard working people who were let go

This are just few examples of the ineptitude of HR and ER to stop nepotism. This should be investigated by Department of labor as all these practices are ILEGAL and I hope someone stand up and law sue their a$$.

QCT MST 2 VP's and 2 SR Directors

Do nothing the whole day

Smoking, hanging out in each others offices, chat about how to build and keep their empires

Buying a bigger house here and there

Selling stock and RSU

Go to the lab at 7 pm to ensure all the H1B's are still working

Lovely life for them

Friends and Family

My manager favors one of the lowest performing people on the team, which has dropped the morale of the entire team. It is a hard relationship to understand since the employee often makes the manager look bad. The relationship is hurting the manager's career in the eyes of upper management.

In my group there are few directors and principals which have no clue of what those titles mean, principal engineers with no reports cannot even understand basic circuits. I am at QCT Quality group.

My manager does not understand how to develop a team. They are a longtime Qualcomm employee who did not have a management position prior to Qualcomm and their only experience is learning from other poor managers/directors. Upper management changes have shinned a spot light on their poor performance and some changes are coming.
