Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

Does anybody see an end to this?

I'm just wondering, does anybody actually see an end to this? Constant worrying, constant anticipation, constant stress... Do we actually believe General Electric will ever again be a company that doesn't have constant layoffs and that actually cares about its employees? Or is this pretty much how it's going to be from now on unless we leave on our own or retire?

We have the Trian partner on the GE board and he will push for more profit month after month. So, everyone should expect that GE will never be the stronger company in the market. Eventually, GE will be either shutdown their doors or sold out to some financial institution.

No, I don't see an end to the whining and sniveling comments on this board.

Welcome to the days of old. Under Jack we had to always worry about our jobs. Even on good year GE was always racking and stacking. You see back then if you went three or four of his stupid purge cycles of getting rid of 10% of the work force. You eventually get to some decent B + players and individual contributors. I see flannery asking every division to reduce costs no matter how well you do overall. If you do not like put the resume on the street.

The so-called management in this company have to be the most intransigent and perfidious amongst its peers. That's why this ship is going down.

This is part of the "great changeover" for all industries- the transition from brick and mortar dominant business to online centric business in the age of outsourcing, AI< and automation. This is the new norm.
