Big time restructuring at Dell EMC IT mainly SoBo & Ireland location. Few long time EMC IT SVPs , VPs , senior directors & directors are packing their bags. Some are leaving today and remaining are planned for next Friday . Some of these positions are eliminated and some are replaced by Folks from Dell IT . Rumor is that Dell is not going to continue to invest in EMCs propel (SAP) platform . This may lead to few hundred job loss in SoBo & Ireland location in coming months.

Apart from IT big bosses, Are Individual contributors are also impacted in SoBo IT & Ireland IT this week?

"This is a sinking ship." true unfortunately. But it will take awhile to sink. And with that much time in hand, maybe we will have breakthrough in IoT R&D investment or managed to acquire a gold mine.
I also noticed lot of empty cubes in SoBo office . There is nothing much to do as many projects are not approved. Managers and directors are VERY BUSY with their weekly staff, town hall , monthly , quarterly all hand and many other non value adding meetings. In my group pretty much every one is waiting for our package !!!
This is a sinking ship. I don't see any new investment in new products or innovation. Focus is mainly on how to rationalize the existing product portfolio, how to integrate various EMC products with Dell products and how to reduce the cost.
Yep . ZZZ list is growing rapidly. Round Rock guys don't want (parallel) IT management and leadership teams in MA or CA or Ireland. I heard that lot more clean up is planned in IT before FY19
Very expensive to keep flying EMC folks out to Austin every month or so. Where is the value, for anyone but MA folks? Already there is talk about how redundant Hopkinton positions are, and not just in engineering.
If you think from Dell's perspective , It does not make any sense to keep folks in MA . It is very expensive in MA compared to TX . Long term goal is to keep few key customer facing and some engineering positions in those expensive locations in USA. Rest of the jobs will move to Austin area and Dell 'best locations' across the globe.
I dont see many so called sr managers, directors , Sr Directors in Ireland IT now a days.

Fk emc...we were goin ok until dell took over..people loosing jobs isnt a good thing unless they are looking to leave..since dell took over thats a lot as we all know dell runs its buisness into the ground and treats workers like crap..dell limerick..enough said
