Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

Not just GE

Some here seem to think these layoffs are isolated to GE and its power division. Here we have IBM laying off "another 500" because they've been laying people off for a year or two, along with just about every major tech company.

And then there's big Pharma, same deal, Oil and Gas, Healthcare, need I go on? Believe the ostriches with heads in sand or take 10 whole minutes and find out the truth on your own.

GE thrived on cronyism and the government's picking of winners and losers. Now they can't. Other companies did the same thing and are now also declining, but GE is the sickest chicken in the room. The other major companies might be able to recover, but GE is too lost in its own hubris and inertia to ever have a chance.

GE's problems are systemic. Now Imelt, Comstock (how did she get to be VP?????), Bornstein etc have been forced to leave, hopefully flannery can salvage what's left and fix the gambling mentality which cost and are going to more jobs in 2018/19/20. Be under no illusion, read the company reports.
