Heres to crossing your fingers hoping your wire center not to get hit after they have already asked 2 people if they wanted to take a vsp.

NOTHING SAYS MERRY CHRISTMAS LIKE A PINK SLIP FROM AT&T! :(
AT&T East (what's left of it) got hit with 17 surplus today as follows: Tech Analyst -1, Customer Service Tech - 2, Network Tech ESS - 2, Network Delivery Tech - 12. Numbers don't seem high, but remember there is a very small base of staff left in the East.

Over 100 Prem Tech in Michigan alone..surplus announced tomorrow..per CWA
Definitely not bs! 600 prem techs from district 6 alone. They have till Jan 4
Anyway know if Pasadena Cable Desk is affected? They just offered a buyout and the area manager and both first levels pink slipped. Now only about 20 are left...
I'm in the southwest and I'm hearing 150 techs will be surplused. I believe they are prem techs but have not verified this yet.
that is terrible, sorry to hear that i’m in the midwest in a call center have you heard of any news affecting call centers by chance?
I am a I&R tech in the Midwest it as been verified that 12/15 that CSTs are affected they eat a reduction in size in my area in the amount of 114 techs. 30 construction, 14 special service and 70 I&R. This will affect techs with 17years or less.
I work in the rome, ga small business call center. We had ppl come and speak to us about what other departments we would want to work in. Headcount is maybe 60 ppl. I know something is up because my manager reached out to an old employee looking for our trainer who works out of the Atlanta office. Question is why she didn’t ask anyone in her office for his info. Seems suspicious. We might not get the boot 12/15 but have a feeling it’s coming because majority of the office has been there less than 2yrs. Most people with seniority are managers. Haven’t seen any promotions out of the office in maybe 4yrs. On top of that rome is very small a vendor called Sykes opened up a call center about 2yrs ago. Rome is a rural area find it odd they opened up less than 5mins from out office and service Att customers.
Surplus meeting tomorrow in southwest. Winner winner chicken dinner
Per CWA Contract, the First Announcement Date for 2018 is this Friday December 15th and yes there is either a surplus or VTP declared everytime. I've been here almost 30 years and this is just a fact of the Contract. Good luck to those who may be affected.
Im in tfs not a call center
There is no doubt we are slow, I’m in acquisitions and we sit 5 min between calls infact etime is offered daily our whole office at times uses it and the ones who stays still sit 5 min between calls. My hope is call volume picks up soon or they will have a lot of un needed call center employees as they shift them to overseas and vendors to save a buck
No need to cross your fingers, if you did not attend the center meeting advising you of the center closing, you have at least another quarter of work. Call volume has dropped drastically in our region so I don't know what anything means anymore. Just pray about the situation and have faith. This is just one job that includes a lot of stress.
I’m sure nothing will happen
Big layoff announcement for west Prem techs for 12/15
No they haven’t
Everyone affected has already been notified.
Depending on the region you are in, they would have to offer a buyout first and within 60 days of that, declare surplus. For the West- - where there's NO work for call centers.
Yep we are all doomed. Can wait to get my walking papers so I can move on with my life. I just hope I get my papers before the stock market crash
whether it's announced or not many employees realize there is less work to go around these days
There is ALWAYS a surplus announcement every quarter, so yes, there will be one this Friday, 12/15.
There will be no announcement 12-15. This is just a rumor.
#fakenews not going to happen
