This story was on the local news last night. Someone had bought a Kenmore front loading washing machine and it worked right for 10 DAYS! They got the runaround from Sears (kept getting told that the part was "backordered") until the local media got involved!

That's odd because according to the standard 30 day guarantee it should have just been replaced anyway right?. He must have bought a PA and went through them. I would have just gone back to the store with my receipt on that 11th day.

@apo Very true. You are lucky you had such a seamless experience at Lowe's. I have had to fight for everything in every case with multiple retailers....including Home Depot which was surprising.
So true about taking even of customers/members. I bought a Samsung washer and dryer from Lowe’s. A month later the washer wasn’t working. Repair man was out and said it would take a month to get the parts. I went back to Lowe’s and told them I couldn’t be without a washer for a month. They delivered a new washer the next day. That’s customer service.

Yeah, but its pretty rare that the car company is on such bad terms with their supplier that they can't get parts.
Very true, but think of all the recalls on cars and other things. No matter what you buy today, there is a chance something could be wrong. I wish it wasn't the case, but I have seen everything.
What a shame! My Kenmore Elite washing machine/dryer are absolutely wonderful, but I know there is always a small % of issues.
