Want to but a $200K house in Cary, North Carolina!! But they are all at $400K !!!

Looking for a 4 bed room house near Cary, North Carolina. Used to be $200K, but now they are all $400K or $800K or MORE

I am at the top of my salary range.

No Promotion.

Republicans are increasing my monthly payment by ONE THIRD due to no tax deduciton for MORTGAGE and PROPERTY TAX.

My realtor says I can afford $250K house.NOW.

Maybe $400K if I stretch.

But if the deductions for mortgage and property tax go AWAY, I can only afford 1/3 less.

That would be only $275K house

THERE IS NO $277K HOUSE in CARY, NC near QCOM where I work.

I AM SCREWED.

Negotiate a good severance package and use it for a larger down payment.

Easy Peasy.

All people at NC will be layoff by March 30th.

Buy out in the country. It is much cheaper if you can stand the commute.

But don't buy now.

With the new FEDERAL tax bill removing the state income tax deduction, you won't get past the standard deduction on your mortgage.

Houses will probably drop by 33% in North Carolina triggering a recession.

This will repeat the 2008 recession when NOBODY was HIRING and everybody was being laid off.

This is not related to layoffs.. so shut the fuCC up

People may say this time is different but it has happened many times in the history before even in hot socal coastal areas

Can't have your cake and eat it too. Get a house in Durham rather than the overvalued, expensive Cary area. This entire area is overpriced.......or....EVERYONE makes more than I do.

I should clarify, Reator says I can get a $400K house, but I am nervous.

If I lose the tax deduction, it is WAY MORE than the rent I pay now.

Will rent go up after I lose the tax deduction after the Republican tax plan?
