With all the layoffs will GE still give out bonuses for this year? Did any business unit actually meet their targets for the year? I have not heard if they are being impacted with the deep cuts.

Generally its the self promoters who get bonuses these days
If you don't make charts and graphs all the time, your inept manager wont know what you do.
GE managers these days tend to be disconnected types that don't know much about the business.
How can there be bonuses when GE is nose-diving into oblivion. Keep spending more than you earn takes you to bankruptcy eventually.
Yes..all kissers will get bonus...you will see. Always do. Managers will have a smaller amount to give to the big self promoters.
Edit to below: 2017 (Not 2016)
GE Power Services gave out bonuses in April 2016 for the US folks. They pushed out raises to July. (Probably so all of the people laid off in that spring round would be out of the picture by that point)
Power Services did not meet all of its targets but nothing was red and whatnot. So not the max possible bonus, but still a half way decent one. At that point we were still being told everything was sunshine, rainbows and puppies!
It will be interesting to see what happens this April. If they do anything I would expect again cuts to take effect prior to any raises such that they do not have to add more to the impacted employees pensions, etc.
(This is for salaried US employees)
It's a valid point to bring up, when they restructured the bonus program they tied it to each individual businesses performance based upon deliverables. While overall, the company has challenges, and Wall St. is not happy, it is still making a profit.
We haven’t got a “bonus” in quite a few years..... unless you count a hard hat or a fruit basket full of rotting pears delivered AFTER Christmas one year a bonus
Not everyone will be released so it's a valid question. Power is red on all but one target so if there are any, the bonuses will be small. Leadership also has the ability to just change the terms of the program which I think happened in O&G.
From your post I bet they promoted you to something like a workshop shift supervisor or some other low level administrator.
We got a bonus, but I think they just restricted it to EB, XLP and OMLP. The folks they bank on to be the future.
I put in my notice and they promoted me and gave me a pay increase. Just riding this out.
I feel bad to admit I have no clue what half of the folks reporting to me do.
r u fkn kidn me?
Bonus is if they let you work past Q1.

Wow, you really don't get it do you?
Do you realize you have an excellent chance of being laid off within a few months? And you're asking about bonuses?
