Only hourly full-time employees with at least 1 year of service are eligible for severance pay when your unit closes. The amount of severance pay is determined by your years of service (at the time of termination), and the maximum amount for hourly associates is 8 weeks for someone who has worked for the company for many years. Associates must work through the conclusion of the liquidation process to be eligible for severance pay.
Part-time associates are NOT eligible for severance pay at all.
Please note that severance pay is only given for store closings and position eliminations. People do not get severance for quitting, or terminations due to misconduct, attendance, performance issues, etc.
