This is the worst news ever for Verizon employees....Sedgwick Claims is far and away the most untrustworthy incompetent organization/company that borderlines on criminal. Why would World would a top 20 Fortune 500 company put their employee's benefits in the hands of these shysters? Met Life was a Class organization that treated the Verizon client with respect and dignity. You will soon find out if you can ever get a live person on the phone that Sedgwick Claims shouldn't be handling a veterinarian's Claims let alone Verizon Employees. Good luck trying to get any address of this company that isn't a P.O Box. Only shysters work out of P.O boxes.....Disgraceful!

I know Verizon has gone downhill, but by replacing Metlife with Sedgwick, that is another story. I’m just trying to update my mailing address and find out when I’m getting paid but this is a joke. Instead of calling a number, I just get disconnected over and over! Total joke! Wtf! 🤬

The replacement of Metlife Disability with Sedgewick Claims by Verizon is outright criminal. When Verizon used Sedgewick for Worker's Comp claims, Sedgwick used every trick in the book not to hear from legitimate doctors and forced their corrupt company paid doctors reports onto the cases. If you did not have a wise attorney keeping Sedgewick in check, you were in for an incredible amount of stress, agony and lost wages that needed to be recouped. Their name was absolute garbage on the internet and there is nothing but bad feedback about them. Now, Verizon in their "infinite wisdom" has replaced Metlife with Sedgwick Claims and my own, legally found disability caused by Verizon's fault has been botched every step of the way. Surgeon's reports that go unnoticed on your "claim examiner's" desk for weeks on end purposely causing them to miss payroll's weekly deadlines for issuing employees pay checks over and over again. Phone calls that never get returned. Absolutely no accountability on their part. Complaints to Verizon payroll are met with 'well, it was Sedgwick's fault" time and time again. You would think that the 16th richest company on Wall Street would have the decency to correct this, but no. Complaints go unanswered and they simply do not care. They won't care unless Verizon get sued in court, which I will be doing shorty since they have no intention of placing me again in a light duty position within the company with my same salary I had earned before. If they both refuse to employ people with disabilities as well as to consistently allow Sedgwick to move forth incompetently causing undue stress on employees, then employees have no choice but to sue Verizon.
Whoever has gotten paid in upper management within Verizon to drop Metlife and bring on board Sedgewick Claims should be fired immediately if not sooner and replaced with a competent team of healthcare professionals who work within the confines of the laws of this country and the agreements settled on between company and union. Their behavior is totally unacceptable and I envision many, many lawsuits against them from employees going forward.
Sedgwick is a scumbag of a company. And that fits perfectly with Verizon’s plan to massively dissolve the workforce. I got hurt a few years back. Just got married had a son and just bought a house. I begged to be accommodated over and over again. But instead they hired private investigators to stake out my home and follow my family around. And the whole neighborhood knew it! I was HUMILIATED in my new neighborhood. Never recovered. Then they filmed me holding my baby son in a busy parking lot and tried to use it against me! Do not trust them! Now they stopped payment of my LTD because I didn’t file for social security and I can’t contact anyone! How convenient. They are super sneaky and NOTHING is below them. GET A GOOD LAWYER FOR THESE SNAKES!
Im jus wondering why if im.entitled to.fmla tht when verizon changed to sedgwick i only get 429..and i have had fmla since 2012 and it has always said 480 hours on my claim for me to use

The Sedgwick call center is located in Irving TX. Sedgwick assigns a different claims number for each company they represent for call routing purposes. The disconnected numbers are for companies that Sedgwick no longer represents.
What major Insurance company or any major respectable company has a P.O box listed as their "corporate address" it's insane. Also, there is no way of even contacting them directly, all the numbers are disconnected or go to voicemails.
I was trying to think of a reason they will not allow any address of there whereabouts to be listed, it's so shady. and it seems they move frequently because their corporate address 3 years ago was a P.O.box in Lexington Kentucky.
Everything I heard about this organization is not good at all, in fact, it's disturbing, they seem to be a fly by night crappy outfit.....I expect huge problems in 2018 all over Verizon's employee map with medical and Met Life a well known respectable World leading company will be sorely missed.

The reason VZ is switching to Sedgwick is that Sedgwick is tougher on FMLA and short term. If you look at the layoff patterns of over 50, FMLA and short term users and military (who get 2x FMLA) then you have your answer.

I’m dealing with Sedgwick now...took them two months just to get an appointment with a doctor! Now I’m waiting for them to ok the surgery. Been going on for almost three months!
I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GLAD I do NOT work at VZW anymore. I remember how much my stomach would hurt when they started making these changes. VZW employees please know that there is life without VZW and I know from experience that they brainwash you to believe that there isn't. You are a value to ANY company and deserve so much better than how VZW treats their employees. Please do your research and find a company that values your work ethic and loyality!!!!!!!
Glad I exhausted my short term disability this year when it was still Met Life. This company is going down the drain, faster than anybody could have predicted. I wish there was some way to get another job. :-(
