Severance, lump or paid out over time?

Does severance come as one lump payment or does it come in payments? Thank you.

Is the severance offer one week for every year that you have worked there?

Lump sum. And no unemployment until severance is ovet. Example: if you have been with the company 10 years, you have to wait 10 weeks before you can get unemployment. You can file when the layoff happens, but wait 10 eeeks for payments to start

Thank you for the answers. It comes as no surprise that it will be taxed. Happy Holidays.

Talked to my coworker who was in audit. She said you get the whole amount.
