Thread regarding Sam's Club layoffs

No cart pushers

I’ve heard that sams may eliminate cart pushers, they will have members bring carts in from the parking lot themselves.

Here’s one for you how about we keep getting rid of the talent and long term. Pretty soon we’ll have a minimum wage cart attendant running the building inside and out. Let’s see how long these million dollar clubs stay at a million. What you pay for is what you get out of people. This is why the turn over rate and call inns has become the norm.

1ley. are you serious? you must work in a club with an abundance of associates. try a club that may have one cos, one tl, or one or two floor partners at any given time. there’s always call outs, schedule changes, vacations etc. As an older female cos i guarantee i’m not working carts or loading cars. Something working for a day and working daily are two separate things. lot attendants will not be eliminated. to say it works at Aldies with the quarter thing and would work at sam’s is ridiculous. different clientele altogether. i’m at a club that’s 100 mil for plus 15 yrs so yeah i know the deal

I haven't heard anything specifically, but I could see it working (at least as good as any of the rest of their "restructuring") because our club has done it frequently for an entire day when payroll has been tight.

During the morning, get the team leads and the produce associate and electronics associate to check the lot once an hour. During the afternoon, the team leads, floor associates, COSes, etc all pitch it once an hour to bring carts in.

It doesn't work great, but it can be done - especially if they went to ALDI-style carts.

Is this a joke? Members won’t even walk 20 feet out the door to trap a loose cart outside. They’ed rather stand, wait and complain lol

Although I doubt they'll change I do remember them having promotions where you'd get entered in a raffle for a gift card if you brought one in when I was younger.

I sincerely doubt car attendants

will be eliminated. That would be open liability for car/cart damage.

Members didn’t like bringing in their own carts when they were in the cart corral. Sometimes to hard to separate, straps getting caught.

They are wet from being outside, etc. our facility has great attendants that are always collecting the carts, taking the trash out that was left in the cart, takes a paper towel to dry off the seat and

handrail for the member. Out in the snow, rain, high winds. Our team is good. No liability claims

for our facility from car/ cart damage. They are wonderful.
